A brief history of Hornsea.
Hornsea pottery was founded by two brothers, Colin and Desmond Rawson, in a small terraced house in Yorkshire in 1949.
The pottery quickly grew to be the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people at the height of its popularity in the 1970s.
The factory closed its doors in 2000, however the beautiful, retro Hornsea designs are still much loved today.
These candles are poured into original egg cups, spice pots, salt + pepper shakers and sugar bowls. Once you have finished your candle, the vessel can be used for its original purpose once again!
